Safety in production is the lifeline of enterprise development, and fire safety is a crucial link in safeguarding that lifeline. To further enhance the fire safety awareness and emergency response capabilities of all employees, and to effectively strengthen the enterprise's safety production defenses, CIMC Puwei recently conducted a professional and practical fire extinguisher principle explanation and hands-on drill at its factory training grounds. This activity aimed to transfer safety knowledge from "paper" to "hands," and from "hearing" to "understanding."

At the start of the activity, HSE personnel from the Comprehensive Management Department, taking into account the characteristics of the company's production scenarios, conducted a lecture using a "theory + case study" format. They not only systematically introduced the characteristics of common fire extinguishing agents such as dry powder, carbon dioxide, and water-based agents, but also explained the applicable scope and selection techniques for different types of fires that may occur in the factory area, such as electrical fires and solid combustible material fires. Subsequently, the safety supervisor from the Comprehensive Management Department, holding a real fire extinguisher, demonstrated its operation while explaining the key points in simple and easy-to-understand language, further strengthening everyone's safety awareness.

Following the theoretical explanation, the practical drill quickly commenced. The scenario simulated an initial fire caused by flammable materials piled up in a corner of the factory warehouse. Under the group guidance of the General Management Department, employees stepped forward in an orderly fashion, strictly adhering to the four-step operating method: lifting the fire extinguisher, pulling out the safety pin, holding the nozzle with one hand, aiming at the base of the fire, and pressing the handle with the other. With precise spraying, the simulated fire was quickly extinguished, and the operating methods were discussed. Participants exchanged information and received safety and fire prevention education regarding daily work and life.

This fire drill not only enabled CIMC Puwei employees to systematically master the use of different fire extinguishers, but also effectively improved their emergency response capabilities in the event of an initial fire through a "theory + practice" approach, thus strengthening the company's "human defense" line for safe production. Safety is paramount, and prevention begins in daily life. The Qingdao CIMC base will continue to conduct various safety training and drills to safeguard the safety of every employee and ensure the company's development.
